Interpreting Cotton Incorporated’s S/S 2014 Trends: Catalyst

Our last look at Cotton Incorporated’s Spring/Summer 2014 color card focuses on their trend Catalyst. Catalyst is all about stimulating the senses with engaging color and textiles, causing our minds and bodies to react in an inspired way. The color palette for this trend is an exciting myriad of pungent brights, deep royals and a rose gold metallic balanced by Powder Puff white and Asphalt grey. The corresponding fabrics are either highly tactile or boldly printed. Either way, this trend is guaranteed to ignite your summer fashions. Spark your interest with wholesale clothing for your boutique from our vendors.

1. About Stylez Dress   2. The Clothing Company Blouse   3. About Stylez Dress   4. Bonage USA Shorts

Our first pick highlights the striking shade, Optical Blue, in About Stylez’s (1) A-line dress. The bold blue is featured on the skirt portion of the dress and embroidered in a beautiful floral pattern on the bodice.  Next we choose a halter top from The Clothing Company (2) in a rich Irispurple with and embellished neck line that strikes the perfect balance between elegance and edge. The halter dress from About Stylez (3) doesn’t have any tactile embellishment but certainly fits into the Catalyst trend with an artistic watercolor print in the cheerful shades of orange Zest and Scented Lime. Our next three choices trick they eye with fabric overlays and transparency. The denim short from Bonage (4) has a crochet overlay on the front of the short that adds a touch of boho femininity.

5. Sole Mio Dress   6. Moda In LA Dress   7. Moda In LA Blouse   8. R Rouge Dress   9. Cura Dress

The bodycon dress from Sole Mio (5) feels very modern in Powder Puff white with sheer areas at the neck, mid and hemline. Then the sheer cap sleeves of Mode in LA’s (6) dress add an ethereal element to the oversized, tropical floral print. Mode in LA (7) also shows us a sophisticated use of bold color. Their color blocked blouse features a hint of Scented Lime on the front placket but the back of the blouse fully embraces the vibrant lime shade. Our last items transition back to tactile textiles. The lime/orange shift dress from R Rouge (8) combines a dizzying zig-zag pattern with transparent lace. The Asphalt grey maxi dress from Cura (9) has an intricate crochet top paired with a crinkled cotton skirt.
